Our Name

LR5 – Locker Room 5

Locker Room 5 is the locker room that was used by the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team in Lake Placid.

This was a group of college hockey players who weren’t supposed to do much of anything at these Olympic Games.  But there was someone else who felt otherwise - Coach Herb Brooks.  Herb Brooks was determined to find a group of guys that were willing to put in the effort and achieve the impossible.

He created a team that had one goal – beat the Russians. The coach and the players had a laser focus on this one goal.  They worked harder, trained harder, and pushed themselves harder than they ever have before.

On February 22, 1980, Team USA beat the Soviet Union 4 – 3 and two days later they went on to beat Finland for the Gold Medal. Beating the Soviet Union has been called the “Miracle on Ice” and often referred to as the greatest sporting event in our country’s history.

Locker Room 5 is symbolic of why I started this company.  When you have a clear strategy and commitment from your team, you can achieve the impossible.
